A bright young man, holding his resume close, waits nervously at the reception of one of the country’s largest corporations. Minutes later he is called in for his job interview. But nothing he learnt in college, university or his last few jobs has prepared him for what comes next. But he’s keen to make it through this. After all, it is a job to die for.
Winner of 4 Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards, The Interview is hailed “a tightly-packed action comedy” with “brilliant contemporary writing”.

It isn’t often that a director knows he must direct a script even before he has reached it’s end. And its even more improbable, that in such a scenario, the writer of that script is a close friend of the besotted director. The Interview is an example of this anomaly. Add a handful of immensely talented and perceptive actors to some brilliant contemporary writing, and you have a play with a charmed life. The Interview went on to become the darling of theatre festivals, a big winner (and jinx breaker) at META, and regaled audiences in Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Muscat and of course, Bangalore, which is where a dark comedy about the corporate world rightfully belongs. And as luck would have it, this little production has now managed to find a place in the first ever theatre season (every theatre professional’s dream) at Jagriti. Or in India for that matter. Naturally, we’re all eagerly looking forward to this ‘dream run’.
