Menon, Dimpy. Blithe Spirit. 2017. Bronze Sculpture. Jagriti
Artist’s Note
Blithe Spirit embodies the joy of performance. The sculpture can be viewed from various levels, from above and below, as one enters the foyer. It uses the entire space as its stage. The suspended figure expresses a myriad of emotions and an attitude of owning all that it surveys. The spirit of Jagriti inspired Blithe Spirit.

Dimpy’s ‘Blithe Spirit’
This flowing stillness
Bewitches our hearts,
What can we compare
With Dimpy’s art?
Shy spots of sunshine
Scurry about to hide,
The stars and the moon
Peep in from outside.
There look! He dances
In unreined delight,
Dazzling by day,
Luminous at night
