What started off as an experiment to paint on different medium as canvases, after years of painting on walls, fabric, paper, metal and wood, Nidhi wanted to paint on something that felt alive. Like wet clay with air passing through it, breathing and moving. From this came the exploration of painting on human bodies - A living, breathing canvas. When Padma came across Nidhi’s Breathing Canvas project, she was intrigued. Would it be possible to take away the male gaze, the lover’s gaze and see these bodies that hold a million stories? Could she tell their stories through the art that Nidhi was creating on these women’s bodies? Read More

Gravitas. Respect. Heck, just some quiet, even! ? For music audiences and performers alike, Bangalore doesn't have too much to offer in the way of these 'basics', eh? Well, scratch that. Beginning with a music festival last year, the Jagriti Theatre (one of the city's premier locations for serious dramatic events) is now on the map for music. Huzzah! Now there's a formal, dedicated space (no F&B, no yakety-yak, just a focused, listening audience) for music.Read More
