The celebration is led by the announcer who diligently awaits and calls out the leader's every action. While the crowd is engulfed in excitement, a young boy and girl meet and fall in love. They frolic about the stage amid the rest of the commotion. One of the admirers, a girl, notes with horror that the leader has no head. The announcer points out that he has no need for a head since he possesses genius. Krapp’s last tape is short play written by Samuel Beckett in 1958 about a writer who has recorded his thought and views of his life on audio tape every year since he was twenty four. He has stored and numbered each tape and keeps them locked in a desk at home. From the play as Krapp listens to past recordings we can learn about different events that have happened in Krapp’s past which might give us an understanding about how he was.
