Nothing Like Lear
Ever thought what a clown does when he is depressed? It sure is tough being a clown. Here is one who hasn’t stopped crying for days.. And he has plenty of reasons for it. The one he loved the most has left him and gone away… for good. And now he has NOTHING. Then, he is not getting any younger. In fact- he is old. But more than anything else, he is depressed because he has been forced to perform this play. No wonder he is depressed.

Silvatein - The Wrinkles In Time
On a day unknown, at a place not known, two people run into one another.
They soon start talking to each other, but they seem to be conversing at cross purposes. They seem to be long-lost lovers but, at the same time, seem to be perfect strangers. They seem to have had a life together but, at the same time, seem to have had lives apart. They seem to be occupying differing realities but also seem to be in someone’s dream.
Who are they? Where are they? Are they strangers? Is the encounter even real?
The play invites the audience to ponder this encounter, and its differing accounts of lives lived. It explores relationships and marriage, individuality and freedom, betrayal and hope.
It is abstract, yet unsettlingly specific.
It is simple, yet confoundingly complex.
It is subtle, yet brazenly bold.
Do not miss this unique play!

The Earthquake
Mathew and Sameer meet every week. They share an apple. They speak. They feel a little less lonely. Someone leaves. They do this again. And again. Mathew goes on a boat ride. Sameer stays in a bubble. There is silence. And again. Mathew and Sameer are friends...
This is a piece about two people. What happens when we finally face our truth? Maybe we hear a strange noise...
A note from the playwrights:
Two young artists from India and Germany meet on a farm in Bengaluru as part of an exchange program. They get to know each other and realise that cultural differences are just one aspect of human connection. They come together to develop something together. But what?
The idea for this collaboration started with a conversation about loneliness. Above all, about how loneliness is a common factor for young people in all countries. From loneliness to the intricacies of human relationships, two people began an intensive writing process to explore the many facets of human connection.
The Earthquake (Original Title: “Bh?mikampa – Das Erdbeben”) received the Internationaler Kulturprojekte Grant 2023 from the Landeshauptstadt München Kulturreferat (City of Munich).
